A cooperation between the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and the Academy of

Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB), in the frame of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD program: Partnerships with Greek Institutions of Higher Education 2020 - 2022.

 

Post documenta: Contemporary Arts as Territorial Agenciesis an educational and artistic research program of intercultural exchange among students and academic staff from the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig and the Athens School of Fine Arts. Conceived as a platform for experimental modes of art education, research, production and dissemination, the program aims to engage with the challenges of our current condition through collaborative practiceand critical discourse. Unfolding in the course of three years, the project encompasses a wide range of activities and formats, including workshops, talks, publications, podcasts, exhibitions and public events. ASFA students are invited to apply for participation in the second iteration of the

program (2021). The open call is aimed at students across artistic disciplines and in any year of their studies, with a specific interest in:

 

  • artistic research and critical discourse
  • collaborative and trans-disciplinary artistic practices
  • experimentation with cross- and critical media formats, including video,

sound, installation, performance, net art, VR and publishing

 

Participating students will be expected to attend the online lectures and workshops. The focus of the second iteration of the program is to produce new original artworks which will be exhibited in group exhibitions in Athens and Leipzig.

 

Please note that due to COVID-19 health and safety regulations the program takes place entirely online until further notice.

including your Curriculum Vitae, Portfolio and Letter of Intention stating your fields of special interest, reasons for applying and desired outcomes from participating in the program (in English, max. 300 words). Note that an active institutional asfa.gr e-mail account is required.

 

Please note that good knowledge of English (B2 level equivalent), as the working

language of the program, is a prerequisite to apply.
